The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, criticized the decision of
the Socialist Party t postpone the Civil Employee Law with six months.
The law passed with the consensus of all parties on May 30th.
“Edi Rama repealed the law that passed with the consensus and unanimity of the entire Parliament on May 30th. This is one of the laws that for not being approved caused the failure to receive the candidate status on December. This is one of the three laws that Brussels considered that the referendum wasn’t enoough and consensus was needed, consensus that was given on May 30th after Rama made sure that it was too late for receiving this status. This consensus was damaged last night. Rama ignored the warnings of the opposition and violated the Parliament’s consensus. This doesn’t happen in a Parliament that is based on legal principles and democracy. This happens only in banana republics”, Basha declared.
The Democratic Party leader appealed the Parliament Speaker to intervene for not ruining the consensus that has been achieved. Basha spoke about what he called an effort by the majority to create temptations for the opposition.
“I appeal the Parliament Speaker to do his job and avoid every temptation of the majority, and understand that consensus is not a matter of numbers, but of values”, he declared.
What path will the Democratic Party follow to oppose the decision of the Rama government? Basha said that they will gather the Parliamentary Grouo and will consult with the allies.
“The Democratic Party Parliamentary group will gather in the hours to come to decide about the further steps. The Democratic Party is committed to offer help to the administration members, who feel unjustly threatened. The law that protected the administration and its postponement with six months is just a way to clean the administration. They removed the legal protection to start cleaning the administration, completely against the promise that they held in front of our partners in Brussles”, Basha declared.
Mima appeals investors: Don’t fall to the government pressure
The Democratic Party Parliament Member, Florian Mima, emphasized that the new Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has decided to undo everything that has been done by the former government.
The former Minister of Economy underlined that Rama is confirming that the June 23rd elections was day zero and everything that has been done before that date must be undone.
“The Democratic Party encourages all investors to stand up and not be demoralized by the corruptive pressures”, Mima declared.
