Democratic Party MPs who want to enter the Parliament despite the
political decision of their party leader for boycotting the parliament,
risk getting kicked out of the party.

This was declared by the DP leader on Top Channel’s “Top Story”, hosted by Sokol Balla, when he was asked about the initiatives undertaken by MP Mesila Doda.

“The decision for interrupting the relations with the Parliament, after the orchestrated attack in Parliament against the free speech, is a political decision. I stand to the view that every MP of the Democratic Party must respect the political decisions of the DP. If one doesn’t respect it, will happen whatever happens in any political party”, Basha declared, warning of a suspension.

Basha commented about the elections inside the Democratic Party and the creation of new structures. He said that none of the historic figures has been removed.

“The party was renewed, but it did not change. You can compare it with a noble tree, such as the olive tree, which is always green. It is always recovering, but its color remains the same. This is the Democratic Party. There is recovery, but no change. There can be no witch hunts. This party is built on the vote of its members”, the DP declared.

Basha explained the stance of the Democratic Party for what is called the losing of mandates if the DP doesn’t turn in Parliament within December 20th. He also explained the opposition’s conditions for returning.

Lulzim Basha: “They must commit that there will be no more games, from now on. Every decision of the Constitutional Court should be implemented right away. We asked to work together with all political and legislative instruments that we have for our obligation towards citizens, so that we can give them a government, a parliament and a decent representation of the civil values”.
