The four-hour meeting of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group had a
50-minute video conference of the EPP President, Joseph Daul, and EU
Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, with the Democratic Party
of Albania.
Right after the meeting, the opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, reiterated their request for technical government and resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
“The technical government is our only solution. If there is another solution, I am ready to discuss. I offered everything with the only purpose to achieve a political agreement that would secure free and fair elections for Albanians, but we haven’t had any proposition from the Prime Minister”, Basha said.
“We don’t want power in a table. Our only condition is a technical government without Edi Rama as Prime Minister. His resignation is enough for a technical government to be formed. He is withholding an entire nation”, the opposition leader declared.
