Basha: MPs must be sent to Constitutional Court before talks about reform

“How can there be dialogue when one side brings guns on the table? Certainly not. And Edi Rama doesn’t bring a gun, but an atomic constitutional bomb. We are discussing constitutional amends for a more independent judiciary, for better legal and constitutional rules, while Rama says that he doesn’t want to implement the current law, which says that if an MP is caught receiving public funds, his mandate goes for a review at the Constitutional Court”, Basha said.

The Democratic party leader mentioned the case of MP Koco Kokedhima, and said the DP will not make dialogue with terrorists, since this kind of dialogue from Edi Rama is terrorist-like.

The Democrats did not file a request only against Kokedhima, but also against Rakip Suli and Valentina Leskaj.

“Rakip Suli has leased his own building to the OSHEE. Valentina Leskaj is taking 1/3rd of the railways for her son. The Constitutional Court must review these cases, but Edi Rama refuses to implement the decision of the Constitutional Court. He wants to defend corruption the same way he defended crime, because these are the pillars of his power”, he said.

The Democratic Party leader said that he had received guarantees from officials of the Obama administration and US congressmen about this.

“The National Bureau and the Justice Reform must follow the Venice recommendations based on the European standard. No one will be able to stop or deviate this will which comes from the people of Albania so that they can be independent from politics”, he declared.

Basha accused Prime Minister Rama of capturing justice and that the DP is trying to stop this through the justice reform. According to Basha, the purpose of the justice reform is to end the government arrogance which according to him is stealing every penny from Albanian citizens.
