The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, declared on Facebook that there are more than 20,000 families unfairly removed from the social welfare by Edi Rama’s government.
Posting a series of photos of visits in these families, Basha said that most of them are closing this day without electricity and without food on their tables.
“This is the fate of Maria and her three orphan children. She only had half a sack of flour. This is the fate of Shpresa and her empty fridge, with nine members of her family to feed. This is the fate of Donika and her sick mother, whose wooden ceiling could fall over their heads. Edi Rama took away their food while he spends millions for luxury, and yet he finds time to keep lying, rather than turning back their social welfare payment. Basic food is no luxury. No citizen should sleep with an empty stomach”, Basha said.
