Basha meets EU enlargement Commissioner: “We agreed on two major objectives”

After meeting with the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi, the Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, declared in a press release that with Varhelyi they discussed the solution of the political crisis in the country, while he insisted that there can be no free and fair elections with Edi Rama.
“He showed me his strategy, which the opposition and I fully support.
“We agreed that the solution to the serious political crisis in Albania can come only through free and fair elections.
“Together with the EU accession negotiations, these are two major objectives that go in full accordance with each other”, Basha declared.
“I welcomed the EU assistance that allowed the political dialogue for the Electoral Reform outside the illegal Parliament that came out of the Organized crime.
“This is the first step to take the country towards free elections so that the citizens can make a proper decision.
“Without this nothing can happen that could make our country progress. We are determined to end the political crisis”, Basha declared.
