The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, met today twice with the ally
parties and former leader Sali Berisha, while US Ambassador Donald Lu
met with Prime Minister Edi Rama.
updated his allies with the propositions of the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Hoyt Brian Yee for resolving the political crisis.
Agron Duka, leader of the Agrarian Environmentalist Party, declared for the media that the opposition is reconsidering the McAllister package.
“We reviewed the McAllister package and the propositions made by Prime Minister Rama, which requires time. We need biometric identification of the ID cards and electronic voting. I insisted and I believe we agreed that the electronic voting has lost its sense, since that would require a logical postponement and we cannot ask for one more year”, Duka declared.
Basha met with former Prime Minister Berisha to discuss the conclusions of the meeting and to prepare his answer to the American offer.
