Basha: “Low inflation confirms crisis”

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, said that the purchasing power of Albanians and consumption keeps dropping.
“INSTAT says that the annual inflation norm for April 2016 was 0.3%, which shows a weak demand. The two past months were 0.2% and 0.3%”, Basha declared.
But although inflation is low, he said, prices that affect Albanians have increased, especially for the education service, with 4.8%, fruits with 22.3% and vegetables with 6.1%.
“The government figures, although taken care of, reconfirm what every Albanian feels: the deep economic crisis, unemployment and poverty, which are direct consequences of corruption and robbery from the government in taxes, customs and procurements, a result of high taxes and biased treatment of businesses and farmers”, Basha said.
The solution to this situation, according to Basha, is an Albania of low taxes that fights corruption in the customs and tax office, which will bring back the financial respiration to consumers and businesses.
