After meeting with Parliament Speaker Ilir Meta, the Democratic Party
leader, Lulzim Basha, said that Albania does not deserve a justice
system that is politically biased, and the DP insists to avoid this.
“This is why we wanted the Venice Commission to be the referee of the justice reform. Venice has been very clear. They gave the formula for guaranteeing a free justice system. The DP accepted this. We accepted a solution that did not come from us, but from the USA and the EU”, Basha said.
The DP leader reiterated that the DP will accept negotiations with the conditions of the Venice Commission.
