The leader of the opposition, Lulzim Basha, asked the Prosecution to
investigate the connection of Edi Rama with a 80.000 USD payment that
Bilal Shehu had paid for funding the campaign of Barack Obama in 2012,
an event from which Rama received a picture with Obama.
The Prime Minister’s Office reacted by calling this a media manipulation. They guaranteed that Edi Rama has not paid anything to be part of a manifestation during Obama’s electoral meeting.
The accusations between Rama and Basha continued by mentioning the “justice reform” issue. Basha said that this story means that justice in the USA works, but Rama doesn’t want it.
Rama answered by saying that different from Basha, he is ready to vote a justice system that can operate without any influence from politics, but Basha and Berisha are scared from the fact that judges and prosecutors will be appointed also by USA and EU.
