The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, has visited poor families that were removed from the economic scheme.

“The shocking witnesses of single mothers left without food for their children, show how the government has abandoned more than 20,000 families throughout the country”, the DP communication says.

“780 families from the Kamza municipality were removed from the economic welfare, but none of them knows the reasons, although they are as poor as others. The fridges and cupboards of Shpresa Arapi, Artur Rungo and Donika Sheta have nothing to eat”.

Basha: “Why did they say you don’t qualify for welfare? Did they give any explanation?”

Shpresa Arapi: “Not at all. We have no money. Our fridge is empty”.

Basha: “Without economic assistance, you will also have your electricity and water cut, otherwise they will take you to prison. This is unacceptable”.

The Democratic Party considers a national emergency the fact that more than 20,000 families were removed from the economic welfare scheme. For this reason, they have demanded an urgent debate with the Prime Minister.
