The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, visited the city of chrome
mines, Bulqize, where he promised residents that politicians and
oligarchs will no longer be owners of the mines, and that the tax
received by the product will be divided between the central and local
governments, and that the Miner Status will be adopted to European
standards.
“This will be done so that you can have the same conditions with European citizens. I am not saying that you will have European salaries, but at least you will be insured. You will have your social insurance. We are not making anything up. We are going to take the same model used by the EU. So far, only five people are profiting everything from this work. They are taking chrome, oil, concessions, tenders, constructions, tourism and drug as well”, Basha said.
Basha said that his focus is the economy, with the purpose to increase the welfare of citizens.
He accused the Prime Minister Edi Rama of not keeping promises during the 4-year term. He blamed him for the increased number of Albanians immigrating abroad, due to the lack of possibilities, due to increased unemployment, lack of infrastructure and high oil price.
