Basha: “Implement recommendation 88”

The opposition keeps standing behind their requests for a full
implementation, according to them, of recommendation 88 of the Venice
Commission for the Justice Reform.
Lulzim Basha reiterated this stance from the Assembly of the Republican Party, where he was invited.
“We want independent justice with the only condition to have a full implementation of recommendation 88, as the only way that offers independent justice that is not grabbed by the majority. We want nothing more than a full implementation of the Venice Commission. We will accept nothing less, and no judge more than the Venice Commission”, Basha said.
This stance of the Democratic Party was supported by their traditional allies, the Republicans, as confirmed by their leader, Fatmir Mediu.
Another cause that the republicans share with the democrats is the electoral reform. Mediu supports the proposition of the Democratic Party for open lists, and the state funding for political parties.
Basha said that they need to establish an electoral system that guarantees free and fair elections.
