Some minutes after the Electoral College rejected the Socialist Party
request for invalidating CEC decisions taken in May 18th and 23rd, DP
candidate for Mayor of Tirana, Lulzim Basha, gave a press release.
Basha greeted the decision given by the Electoral College, calling it “a victory of democracy”. He said that this decision showed that every vote must be counted according the law and the Constitution. Basha invited the citizens to stay calm until a the full certification of the result.
“This entire battle was made for letting your voice to be heard. Every vote must be read according the law and the Constitution. This is the greatest victory. I thank the citizens for being calm during the process, and we must remain calm until the final certification of the result”, Basha declared.
After the Electoral College’s decision, doezens of DP supporters gathered in front of the Democratic Party headquarters, celebrating Basha’s victory.
