The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, posted a video-message from Thumana in which he accuses the state structures of not acting to help citizens.
He accused the government of Edi Rama of getting richer on the earthquake ruins.
“Our country needs a responsible government that doesn’t try to get richer on the earthquake ruins. Our economy depends on the resolution of the political crisis”, Basha said, adding that the country is facing a deep humanitarian, economic, social, political and constitutional crisis.
“I am on my way to Tirana after visiting Thumana. For two hours I visited many families that are in extremely bad conditions. They are totally abandoned and forgotten, after the government’s propaganda. While the weather gets colder, rains have put the plastic tents out of order.
“Desperation prevails in every corner. Poverty is so extreme, that it is starting another consequence of this humanitarian crisis. There are many sick children and senior citizens who need medical care, but it is completely impossible to get it where they are, and they cannot move to other hospitals, in Kruja, Tirana or Lac”, Basha said.
