Basha: “‘Force of Law’ operation, ridiculous results. Police operate as Saimir Tahiri”

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, accused Edi Rama and the Interior Minister, Fatmir Xhafaj, of turning the “Force of Law” operation into a ridiculous farce.

“These two weeks showed that Edi Rama and Fatmir Xhafaj cannot fight crime. The results of the ‘Force of Law’ operation, several weeks later, are just ridiculous. They have arrested only two villagers with 130 grams of cannabis and tried to sell them to drug traffic leaders. Police are totally operating as Saimir Tahiri. Their biggest event was a ceremony for good drivers, while cars in Vlora, where Edi Rama is an MP, keep exploding by gang wars. Only today, insecurity has taken tragic proportions with two explosions in Tirana and Shkoder. These episodes take lives of innocent passerby citizens”, Basha declared.

As for the inflatable powerboat that was seized in Greece, Basha said that it was caught only because the Greek authorities decided to not notify their Albanian colleagues.

Basha said that a company which has been granted a PPP contract from the government to manage waste through incineration has received 4.8 million EUR without doing anything.

“Rama denied the children of Bulqiza, who break their backs collecting chrome, sealing their fate for as long as he is Prime Minister. 70 children were poisoned in school from the central warming system, and no one has apologized. A company in Fier took 4.8 million EUR without doing anything. How is it possible that the government gives 4.8 million EUR to a government for nothing, but they have nothing to give to the children who break their backs to feed their families? Rama and Ahmetaj stay behind this company. The palm trees that were dried up at the Tirana-Durres road had a cost of 8 million EUR, which would be enough for a normal payment of any family in Bulqiza, This can be done only by a Prime Minister who doesn’t care for his citizens”, the opposition leader declared.

Rama reacted after Basha’s accusations and said that the situation in Bulqiza has changed, now that the government has made way for newer investments which, according to Rama, were blocked three times.

“Those hills in Bulqiza were full of children and we made way for investments which had been blocked for years. This investment will take that area from the darkness you put them into. The few children who are still there, who can be counted with the fingers of one hand, are there because your concessionaries didn’t fulfil their obligations”, Rama said.

As for the Fier incinerator, Rama said that the city used to be covered by toxic fumes every afternoon, but the situation has now changed.
