The leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, said that his party
had a raise of voters in these elections and that the majority has been
abandoned by its voters. He sees as success victory in two
municipalities where the right coalition had failed to take the
municipality for two decades.
“Despite the pressure against the administration, the involvement of the public administration in the campaign, the transfer of thousands of electors and falsifications of ID cards, despite the perssure against the free media, the DP has taken a big step in the path of recovery, by increasing the popular support”, Basha declared.
He appealed the Commissioner to keep counting the votes, and appealed Rama and Meta to stop with the efforts to add irregularities. For the opposition, the result was a clear message against the majority and the administrative division.
Basha added that the DP has documented all the problems verified during the elections, but chose to not publish them before June 21st to not stop citizens from voting. He adds that these documentations have been reported by the international partners too.
“These elections are visibly a step back. The OSCE, EU and USA proved the claims of the DP. The government ignored our request to stop people with criminal records from voting. This government showed they don’t want to fulfill their obligations”, Basha declared.
He promised citizens that June 21st will not stop the fight of the Democratic Party for what they promised during the electoral campaign.
