Durres and Kavaja, but mainly Durres, are expected to be the hottest
point of these elections. The Democratic Party says they will not allow
fictive residents to vote in these areas. The DP leader, Lulzim Basha,
told this to the observers of the European Council, in a meeting held
this Thursday.

“No transferred voters will be allowed to vote in Durres or Kavaja. Fictive ooters will not be allowed. They must not accept the money of corruption but they should stay home”, Basha declared.

The Democratic Party says 2880 voters are verified in Durres who have transferred their residence recently.

This fact was verified by the Prosecution for 650 cases of families transferred in Durres. They decided to seize the data from the Civil registrar and ordered the suspension of any action with these data. According to experts, this Court order doesn’t mean that voters should not vote.

This might happen only if the voters’ list in Durres would be printed for a second time, but that would need a decision from the Central Election Commission, which said this Friday there was no legal base to do this and that it was up to the Court to take a final decision.
