Speaking about the recent visits in Brussesl, the Democratic Party
leader, Lulzim Basha, said that the entire international factor is
committed for free and fair elections in Albania.

The lack of political will from the government is an obstacle for this, according to Basha, saying that they are dictated by crime.

“The opposition has been denouncing the criminalization of politics for the past three years, and we brought the decriminalization law, but it is not being implemented due to a lack of political will”, Basha said.

According to Basha, the recent events between the Minister of Justice and the government show that this is a government that is dictated by crime.

Basha underlined that this is the reason why Rama rejected electronic voting. For this reason, he warned that citizens should take a civilian action, since the institutional methods are exhausted.

“The time for institutional solutions is being exhausted and there is no good will from the government, which is playing with time. This is the time for civilian action. DP is reviewing all options, including protests, to achieve what this corrupted government has refused to do institutionally”, Basha said.
