The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, used harsher rhetoric in
Kombinat, where Democratic Party’s rival is the former Minister of
Interior, Saimir Tahiri.

“Tahiri is the emblem of failure and criminalization in Albania. This is the only achievement of Edi Rama and his failed coalition”, Basha declared.

The opposition leader said Rama avoids confronting him in a public debate because he fears talking about unkept promises.

“Why did he force 300.000 people to emigration? Where is the free health care? What about the 13th pension for senior citizens? What about 97% of the people paying less taxes?”, Basha said.

Basha said that no program compares to the one offered by the opposition, which, according to him, is based on lower taxes for every Albanian, especially for youth.

During a visit with Elbasan students, Basha said that as Prime Minister he would offer subventions for public universities and lower fees so that no one stays without university just for not affording it.

For the top 10.000 students, Basha’s plan foresees one year of paid internships, with the purpose to increase chances of employment.
