The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, did not comment the
declaration of the German Foreign Minister, Sigmar Gabriel, against the
opposition’s boycott of the Albanian Parliament and elections. But he
said that he updated he German Chief Diplomat with what he called “facts
that dismantle the government’s propaganda”.

Basha said he made it clear to Gabriel that the Democratic Party is not the one blocking the judiciary reform and the Vetting Law.

“The Vetting Law cannot be done as Edi Rama wants it, or as I want it. It cannot be done as a Prime Minister wants it, because it would be a conflict of interest. The government has the money in its hands, the crime, in this case. Who will do the vetting. The judges appointed by Edi Rama? The opposition will go back to vote the six laws when Edi Rama goes back after breaking the pact. We will have free and fair elections only through a technical government”, he said.

Basha said that the opposition is ready for dialogue, but without giving up from their request for a technical government.
