Basha: 1200 EUR salary for doctors, 700 for nurses, to stop their exodus to EU hospitals

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, presented the program of the opposition.
He said that it is an emergency for Albania to stop the exodus of doctors and nurses who are being hired by EU countries for a much higher salary, and are leaving the country.
The solution, for Basha, is to offer them decent payments and safer working conditions.
“The Albanian economy has lost 560 million EUR because of emigration, while our hospitals are being understaffed”, Basha declared.
“Our program plans to raise the salary of doctors to 1200 EUR, and 700 EUR for nurses. This is the only way to fulfill our country’s needs for medical staff and offer our citizens a safer service”, Basha declared.
