European Commission President, Joze Manuel Barroso, has given no comment for canceling his trip to Tirana.
During a press conference in Belgrade with the Serbian President, Boris Tadic, he has decided to avoid mentioning this issue.

But the Spokesperson Michael Karitsching said that the reason for his visit cancellation is simple and in these moments it cannot be realized.

He refused to comment the events in Tirana, although he expressed dissatisfaction regarding the process.

“We are very clear on what to expect regarding local elections and for respecting the law. We want Albania to reach a constructive dialogue between all political parties, and to be committed on EU integration. Because this is Albania’s goal and the desire of many people living there”, Karitsching declared.

“We will continue to remain committed on this. The reason why the President has traveled in the region is to guarantee that our commitment is clear. When we will have a more constructive atmosphere in Albania, we will go there too. I do not have any comment for specific situations that are occurring in this country”, the Spokesperson continued.

The cancellation of his visit in Tirana has had the interest of media that was present in Serbia.
