Banks cannot sell collateral assets from bad loans

Banks have cleared their balances by many bad loans, but the collateral assets are still on their registers.

60% of the total debt (55 billion ALL) comes from the business loans.

The General Secretary of the Banking Association, Spiro Brumbulli, said that the collateral assets cannot be sold due to the lack of interest.

Apartments, on the other hand, are easier collaterals for banks to liquidate.

This situation has made banks give more loans for individuals rather than for businesses, which doesn’t help the economy.
