Banker Artan Santo executed

The 58-year-old Santo was shot six times a few meters from the main door. The authors were two people on a motorcycle, with helmets on their heads. The businessman died on the spot.

The motorcycle then went towards the Artificial Lake park to lost tracks. Police published a photo of the killers taken from security cameras.

Experts think that the killers were professional killers who not only have not left any track behind, but had prepared a plan to escape the police. Police used helicopters to comb the area, but they couldn’t find the suspects.

The Prosecutors say that the killers have followed their victim from his apartment to his workplace. They could have committed the murder even earlier, but the fact that they chose to shoot in front of the bank might mean that it was related to the businessman’s job.

Police offered 100,000 EUR for any information, while Prime Minister Rama declared on Facebook that a good friend was killed today.

Two people were taken from the Fushe-Kruje police for questioning. One of them might have sold the motorcycle used for the murder.

“Credins Bank is safe”

The Board of Directors of the Credins Bank declared that they are shcked by the murder, and that the Bank has taken all the necessary decisions for continuing the normal activity.

Bank of Albania, the institution that observes the banking market, condemned the criminal act and declared that they are working with all institutions that guarantee financial security, adding tat this unprecedented event does not damage the banking system in general or that of the Credins bank.

Santo, friend of art

Santo has appeared several times in front of the Albanian public, initially with the movie “The Brave”, when he was very young. He has given a huge contribution to art, which was his passion, together with business.

Santo was born in Tirana, on 7 September 1957. Although his first passion was art, he graduated for economy and law, becoming one of the most notable bankers of Albania.

He has played an important role as Director of the Savings Bank, then with “Credins”, which he owns in cooperation with other businessmen. Santo is not only a businessman, but also a successful media owner. He is the co-owner of the “Focus Group” media, which includes several newspapers, one news TV and the economic TV “TV Scan”.

In an interview Santo has said that “there are people who want to earn a lot of money in a short time, but they forget that they lose themselves. The difficult thing is doing both, and that’s what I have tried to realize”.

Santo was married with two children, with whom he had a special relation. Different from many bankers, Santo not only never stopped writing, but he also helped hundreds of new unknown authors.
