Bank, package for bad loans

Top Channel has been able to secure the content of the package, which starts with a detailed verification of the biggest problematic loans in every bank of the country. Sources from the Bank of Albania say that every private bank will be asked to present a list with the most problematic loans, which will be studied one after another. After the detailed study, the central and world bank experts will give suggestions to banks about how they should act with this loan.

The recommendations might include the restructuring of problematic loans and postpone them in cases when borrowers are proved to be in temporary difficulties, and until they are executed or cleaned from the balance. The entire process will be led and observed by Bank of Albania.

This is not the only package of measures that has been foreseen for resolving the bad loan stalemate. 20 experts of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank have arrived these days in Tirana, and they will make a detailed study of the financial system situation.

The monitoring will take several weeks. By the end of it, the International Monetary Fund experts ill plan a package of recommendations for the government, so that the bad loan crisis cannot go even deeper, now that it has turned into the biggest concern for the financial stability of the country.
