The Bank of Albania said that the phenomenon of investing in virtual money is present in Albania as well.
“There is a number of reduced transactions, limited in value. People have tried to include it in other transactions, such as buying stuff on the internet, making it a tradable currency”, said the Supervision Director at the Bank of Albania.
However, the Central Bank advises citizens and businesses to not invest in virtual money, since there are many dangers.
“The currency exchange may change very soon. It is unstable, a currency that is not owned by anyone. If conventional money is produced by central banks, Bitcoin have no institution that guarantees them”, Derralla asid, adding that the biggest danger is that virtual currency cannot be converted into valuable money.
“If you want to conver virtual money to conventional ones, no one will guarantee their return”, the World Bank said.
