Bank of Albania takes measures: “Excessive supply of Euros entering the market”

The Bank of Albania declared that they will continue the program for purchasing Euros from the market until an undefined date.

 

Governor Gent Sejko said that the offer of Euros is still higher than the supply in the market.

According to Sejko, by buying Euros the bank will not allow a further drop, which would have negative consequences for the economy.

The Bank of Albania has not disclosed the number of Euros they have bought, most of which may have been purchased in the market directly.
