The Bank of Albania supports the government’s project to invest 1 billion EUR through private businesses.
“This project will be based on major projects and will attract second-level banks. It has potential for economic and macro-economic development as well, an investment opportunity for banks. Certainly, the feasibility of these projects must be studied first by the financial systems”, said the Bank of Albania Governor, Gent Sejko.
The Bank of Albania finds that the economic growth has improved during the third trimester
“The economic growth for the fourth trimester will be higher than the third. The growth of 2016 will be closer to the growth of the first 9 months, higher than the growth of 2015”, Sejko said.
According to him, the trend will continue in the next two years as well, when the economy will grow to full capacity, encouraged by the internal demand.
The Bank of Albania has decided to keep the interest rate unchanged at 1.25%.
