Bank of Albania Governor meets IMF and WB representatives in Washington

The Bank of Albania Governor, Gent Sejko, attended the Spring Meeting of the IMF and the WB, which is being held in Washington from April 20th to 22nd.
The meeting is attended by Central Bank Governors and Ministers of Finances of member countries, and higher leaders of international and financial institutions.
During these meetings, Sejko underlined that Albania’s economic growth is positive and that the Bank’s monetary policy also increased, employment, wages and inflation.
As for the banking system in Albania, Gent Sejko said that it is characterized by good financial indicators. However, he underlined that the encouragement of credits and further measures for reducing problematic loans remains one of the main commitments of the Bank of Albania in the future.
IMF and WB officials said that Albania needs to profit from the current economic growth.
