The Bank of Albania has raised its prediction for the economic growth of Albania.
Governor Genc Sejko said that the national GDP has increased faster than it was predicted , which may bring a higher growth even in the next years.
The Governor appeals private banks to make good use of the positive economic situation and support it with more crediting.
“Bad loans have dropped with 14.78%. This means that balances of the banking sector are improving. The crediting risk is lower. For this reason, the Bank of Albania judges that the demand for loans should be followed by favorable crediting policies from the Banking system. Otherwise, a further imbalance with the demand and supply, as regards loans, would stop the economic growth and that would be a lost chance for the banking sector”, the Governor declared.
