The New Democratic Spirit joined the left coalition for the June 21st
elections. The NDS and SP leaders confirmed the agreement after the
meeting.

According to the NDS leader, former Albanian President Bamir Topi, this agreement will not stop the NDS to keep criticizing the central government.

“We agreed by building a new and emancipating example for the Albanian politics, like other countries that have overcome these high political conflicts long ago. Parties that are in opposition in a national and centarl level, cooperate in local level. This was the approach of the NDS and we have valued this approach as a special contribution that this party gives through this coalition. We are aware that the NDS is in opposition, but this is a civil and Europeanized opposition. We are happy that we will be together in these elections, to give this spirit of civility”, Rama declared.

The unusual cooperation for the Albanian political arena has been considered by the NDS leader, Bamir Topi, as a political and civil will for administering the cities.

“It is important to have the public’s reconfirmation for the position of the NDS, as a party from the center right. These are administrative elections. We are fed up with the long political transition. We are starting a new political and civil will for better candidates.  It is important to have this philosophy in our cities, now reduced at 61. We need to have projects and go to the real source for funding projects. The race for Tirana is very important. It is the heart of our nation, a heart that suffers and needs an intervention. This requires professionals and people with a vision. Let’s leave behind those who interpret this in an archaic way. For us, it is important to transform Tirana”, Topi declared.
