Taulant Balla, the Head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, said that the positive recommendation without conditions by the European Commission for the EU accession negotiations.
He said that despite the efforts of the opposition to stop the process from the streets, Albania will have the EUa ccessionn negotiations started within 2019.
“The verdict of the EC was based on merit. Regardless of the importance of the decision taken yesterday, I want to be sincere with you and the colleagues of the opposition. For us it was a confirmation and real presentation of our work on the EU accession aspiration. The reason why it was given after the European elections shows that the process is political as well. The European Council decided to postpone it because the decision-making is mostly political”, Balla said.
