The Socialist Party is expecting an answer from the Socialist Movement for Integration after the invitation to renew the coalition made since December 2016. April 1st is the fourth anniversary of the coalition and socialists are waiting to get a confirmation if their ally will remain such for the June 18th elections.

“April 1st has yet to come, so there still some days to it. The Socialist Party has publicly sent an invitation for SMI to be part of the coalition and they need to answer as they see reasonable. The colleagues from SMI need to say theirs on this issue. It’s their choice”, SP MP Taulant Balla says.

As April 9th is the last date to change the Electoral Code, Balla renewed his invitation for the opposition to return to Parliament and at the Electoral Parliamentary Commission. “The invitation for the Democratic Party is always available. But we can say it frankly; they have never been serious about the electoral reform and disagreed from the principle with OSCE / ODHIR recommendations. We cannot go from a traditional system to an electronic one in 3, 6 or 12 months. If we have to make a historic reform we have to create apolitical commissions”, Balla added. “There is no doubt June 18th will be the election date. Those who will take part will rewarded, those who will not take part will be judged by the people”.
