The four Mediterranean countries of our region that will be part of the
Berlin Conference, have agreed about the priorities that will be placed
in the meeting with the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel.

The Prime Ministers of Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia Herzegovina and Croatia have specified the infrastructure priorities that will be presented at the Berlin meeting. In this meeting, the Albanian Prime Minister also transmitted the stance of Kosovo, after meeting with Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, which shows the new spirit of Balkans.

“We are here today, together with the Prime Ministers of Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia, to have a joint position at the Berlin Conference regarding a major project, the Blue Corridor, the highway that will connect the rest of the Mediterranean with northern Croatia, Southern Croatia, Montenegro, Albania and Greece, to finally create the Mediterranean Ring”, Rama declared.

“This project has not been realized yet, although it is very important for Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia Herzegovina and Albania. But it is also important for Kosovo, although its Prime Minister wasn’t here. This was the main topic that we discussed, the common goal that we want to reach”, declared the Croatian Prime Minister, Zoran Milanovic.

The Prime Minister of Montenegro said that the Blue Corridor is an engagement to catch up with the lost time in our region, while the Bosnian Prime Minister declared that it is essential for the regional development.

As for the countries that are trying to catch up with the European countries after being set back by a century of troubles, the Albanian Prime Minister reminded that this if the first year of peace in our region.

“This is a very big peace on our shoulders, that’s why we must come together in this”, he underlined.

Only Croatia is a EU member, and for Edi Rama, the other Balkan countries are lucky that this country speaks on behalf of the region in the Brussels meetings.

“We, who are still outside the EU, will speak more in the language of Balkan, to convince the European Union to be more present in our region”, Rama declared.
