The Brdo-Brijuni Process countries met in Slovania, represented by their respective presidents.

The German President, Frank-Walter Steinmayer, was also present in this meeting with the President of Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia.

The leaders passed the conclusions of the summit in full consensus, which engages them for further reinforcing of regional cooperation, avoiding nationalist rhetoric.

The EU and other member countries were also urged to give a clear accession perspective to Balkan countries.

President Bujar Nishani said Albanians are determined with their orientation towards the EU, and see it as a natural destination.

However, Nishani said Albanians expect the EU to keep seeing Albania as a potential natural member that will join the European family.

According to the Albanian President, Western Balkan should be on top of the EU agenda, especially as regards the political, economic and social commitment.

Nishani added that only the EU, NATO and other deep reforms can detach Balkan from the past of conflicts and the “gunpowder barrel” metaphor.
