The bad weather that has swept Southern Albania has brought severe
rainfalls in the past hours, flooding several streets and putting the
transportation in difficulties.
The heavy rains of this morning have caused floods throughout the city of Vlore. The canalization systems were unable to face the intensity of rains, although the pump was functional.
Energy was cut in several areas, and sea traffic was blocked. Ferries arrived several hours later and after the passengers landed it postponed departure. Port Captains say that the bad weather will continue in the upcoming 48 hours, while the traffic police recommends all drivers to be careful in national roads due to the strong rains, humidity and fog.
2 victims passed away today in car crashes. A 67-year-old was ran over by a vehicle in Vlore, and a few moments later, another 32-year-old was found dead close to an electric cabin near the “28 Nentori” neighborhood of Vlore, probably due to a contact with energy.
