Athens: “Cham case, at court”

04/10/2012 02:15

The Greek Foreign Minister, Dimitris Avramopulos, apologized to his
Albanian homologue, Edmond Panariti, for the incident caused during the
joint press conference in Athens with the Albanian flag placed upside
down.

This cannot affect the successful results of your visit in Greece”, Avramopulos declared.

The Greek Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Grigoris Delavekuras, declared that the Albanian Foreign Minister referred to the Cham issue and the assets of Albanians in Greece, and that Greece is a state of law and whoever considers the property issue unsolved can go to the Greek Justice institutions.

Upside down flag, a mistake

When asked by Top Channel, Greek Foreign Ministry representatives expressed their surprise about this event and declared for the media that it is an accident that has nothing to do with the positive climate in which the meeting was held.

“Mr. Panariti held one of the most productive and friendly visits in Greece, where the good will of both parties was expressed for a further reinforcing of the relations and to resolve all problems that are created quickly and righteously. These relations need a positive climate of trust and the extremists will not be allowed to turn it into a major problem and throw mud on the good will of both countries to improve the relations”.
