During his participation at the UN General Assembly, the Prime Minister
of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, met the head of the EU Foreign Policy,
Catherine Ashton.

Kosovo Government press office announced that Thaci received guarantees for Kosovo’s safe EU perspective.

On his behalf, Thaci guaranteed the head of the EU Diplomacy for continuing the dialogue with Serbia and for implementing the reforms.

“The Kosovo Government is determined to continue the vital reforms in politics, economy and legislation, and for implementing law and order for fulfilling the European agenda”, Thaci declared.

The Kosovo Minister later met his Turkish homologue, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, whith whom he discussed about strengthening the mutual relations, especially in economy.

Clinton: Kosovo territory, untouchable

The USA strongly supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kosovo, same as the extension of the Kosovo authorities in the entire territory.

This was the message that the US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, sent to the Kosovan authorities.

During the meeting in New York with President Jahjaga, the Prime Minister Thaci and the Deputy Prime Minister Pacolli, Clinton declared that Prishtina’s cooperation with EULEX and KFOR has a great significance.

The head of the US diplomacy encouraged Kosovo authorities to continue the cooperation and underlined the US support towards Kosovo’s EU integration.

The US Secretary of State added that the dialogue with Serbia is the only way of progressing, and also greeted Kosovo’s dedication for this process.

She also encouraged the domestic reforms in Kosovo, giving support to the President Jahjaga for war against corruption and organized crime.

On her side, Jahjaga guaranteed Mrs. Clinton that the operation in the three northern communes was undertaken under a close operation with the international partners.

“It aims to implement the agreement for the Customs stamps and is in full accordance with the Constitution of Kosovo”, Jahjaga declared.

The President declared that the Kosovo institutions are committed to establish law and order in Northern Kosovo together with the international partners.

As regards the north, she said that the “Ahtisaari Plus” option, which provides a special status, is not a solution, because it would ruin Kosovo’s achievements and would bring division, rather than guaranteeing integration.
