The US Ambassador in Tirana, Alexander Arvizu, started this week with some intensive meetings with the Albanian politicians.

This Monday he met the founders of the New Democratic Spirit Party, MP Gazmend Oketa and Aleksander Biberaj.

The meeting that lasted 40 minutes served to introduce the goals of this political force.

“We had a conversation about the new party. Is an impressive idea and we wish them all the best”, the Ambassador declared.

“We made a short introduction with the objectives of the NDS, the new spirit that this force aims to bring to the Albanian politics and the work that has been made so far for organizing the branches of NDS throughout Albania. We exchanged thoughts about the current problematic of the Albanian politics, focusing on the presidential election process, which starts after two days”, the NDS declared.

Right after this meeting, the ambassador met the Socialist Movement for Integration leader in a Tirana restaurant. Arvizu and Ilir Meta tried to keep this meeting far from the cameras.

“We had a pleasant conversation. We spoke about the recent development and the integration processes”, Arvizu declared.

When asked if the presidential election was part of the process, Arvizu declared that it was mostly on the European integration. While Ilir Meta refused to give any comment.
