The United States Ambassador to Tirana, Alexander Arvizu, attended a
meeting with the Kukes University students, where he discussed and
invited them to vote freely, for themselves and by making the right
choice.
“It was a pleasure that I visited Kukes. I had a wonderful meeting with these people. They made excellent questions and discussed important issues, including the economic development of the area. As expected, there were questions about the elections too. My basic message was on both sides. I said that I hoped they could use their right to vote and elect wisely. I hope that you will elect wisely for yourself. If you are old enough to vote, you are old enough to decide. No one else should do this for you”, Arvizu declared.
Arvizu was welcomed in a meeting by the Mayor of Kukes, Hasan Halili, who left the Democratic Party a few weeks ago. Halili criticized the behavior of the Interior Minister, a candidate of the Democratic Party in Kukes. “The Interior Minister and his escort provoked the citizens by trying to cause problems. I appeal Noka to distance himself from these police actions”, Halili declared.
