The United States ambassador, Alexander Arvizu, held a meeting with the
Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama, after which he declared: “We had a
nice conversation. The two most important things about which we
discussed were the fact that Albania needs a soft and normal transition,
and I also reconfirmed the commitment of the United States of America
as a partner of Albania”.
Then the ambassador met with the Socialist Movement for Integration leader, Ilir Meta, where he gave the same messages.
“In this meeting we reconfirmed the commitment of the United States of America for the future of Albania. We expect a soft and calm transition, and I will gladly cooperate with Ilir Meta and the other members of the governing coalition”, Arvizu declared.
Meta underlined that they he expressed the commitment of this political force to fulfill its obligations and create a wide consensus for the reforms.
“We will address our general problems of our citizens. We believe in the support of the United States of America for this new perspective of Albania”, Meta declared.
The left coalition “Alliance for European Albania” won the June 23rd elections and will lead the country for the next four years
