Artan Hoxha graduated at the Geology and Mining Faculty of Tirana and
served as Minister of Commerce and Economic Cooperation in 1992-1993.
Hoxha followed post graduation studies in Italy, 1994-1995.
He resigned from his post in 1994, and he was under investigation by the Government of that time, led by today’s Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, but they were suspended soon.
Hoxha has worked as director and President of the Contemporary Studies Institute since 1997, which he founded together with Genc Ruli, the current Minister of Agriculture.
Hoxha has been a member of the Administrative Council of the Tirana University since 2008 till 2010, member of the Council Board of the Research Center for Southeastern Europe, in Thesaloniki, Greece.
He has been active recently in the establishment of the National Center of Licensing Registration, where he played a special role in its fiscal reformation, the creation of the Administrative Courts, and now he is working for reforming the legal and institutional system for all administrative inspections on business.
During this period, since 1997 to 2004, Hoxha has cooperated with the Socialist government of Mr. Meta and Mr. Nano. He is a well known analyst regarding economic, legal, institutional and political matters, and very active in the media and daily press. His name was mentioned to run for president even before Zaganjori’s, but sources say that he had refused at the time, only for accepting now, at the fourth round.
