The Prosecutor General, Arta Marku, passed the Vetting process successfully, although she was criticized for not being at the meeting.
Top Channel asked her lawyer about her absence, which the representative of the International Monitoring Operation called “a lack of leadership”, while the Independent Commission of Qualification called it a lack of prestige.
“It is her own right to come or not. Prosecutors are independent, based on the new amends. The Prosecutor General cannot influence the security measures”, said lawyer Lirime Cukaj.
The Tirana Judge, Alma Brati, candidate for the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, passed the Vetting law and was allowed to continue her duty.
