Argiro Fest 2017 was launched this Friday at Gjirokastra’s histori center.

This celebration of folklore, artisan works and friendship will last four days. It has gathered artisans from all over Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Greece, Bulgaria and Croatia.

Albania’s southern town first welcomed a parade of folkloric costumes.

The Mayor of Gjirokaster, Zamira Rami, said that the celebrations help promote this rich world heritage.

“Argiro comes with an extended format this year. We are trying to integrate the beer festival as well. Gjirokastra citizens and people from every other place are invited to get some entertainment these four days”, Rami declared.

The Argiro Fest is full of cultural events, such as photograph displays, paintings, book fairs, etc.
