“Ardian Klosi” Award

“This is a book with meditation about our culture and its relations with the Western culture, mainly during the totalitarian period. Certainly, this is a book that has deep roots in my memories and especially in my generation”, declared the Chairman of the jury.

This award was supported financially by the European network for literature and books “Traduki”. Minister Kumbaro declared that “Traduki”, in cooperation with the Fischer foundation and Albanian writers, has decided to fund the Ardian Klosi Award even in the years to come.

In Klosi’s honor, Traduki will offer a one month scholarship for translators from German to Albanian in the literature house “Literarisches Colloquium Berlin”. The applicants can find the information on the website of the Ministry of Culture.

“Saras” brings three new publishing

45 publishers from Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia met in this festival with authors and in book promotion conferences.

The Saras Publishing Hous comes with three new books: “Fytyra e Simurgut”, from Gazmend Krasniqi, a homage for the Shkoder poet, Frederik Rreshpja; “E papërsëritshmja Vaçe”, a book dedicated to the Albanian musical icon, coming from her childhood friend, Violeta Librazhdi.

Other books that have been published are “The Janissary Tree”, from the British writer and historian, James Goodwin; new adventures from the detective Yashim Osman, “The Snake Stone”.

This is an extraordinary book that sends us to Istanbul of the 1800s, and shows us the role and importance of Albanians in the Ottoman Empire. The book is based on historic facts, showing that Albanians were administrators and important people to whom the aqueduct system was trusted. The book mentions many Albanian characters, starting from Ali Pasha Tepelena and Enver Xani”, says Alda Bardhyli from the Saras Publishin House.

The Festival of Book and Art will end on April 27th.
