Arber Road, debates between Rama and Berisha

Before the Albanian Prime Minister started his trip to Belgrade, the
Albanian government signed a cooperation memorandum with Chinese Exim
Bank for opening a series of Chinese financing projects in Albania.

Prime Minister Rama wrote on Facebook that the first project that will start a new era of cooperation with China will be the Arber Road, which will start in the next year.

But this has caused debates with the opposition, after the Democratic Party leader, Lulzim basha, said that the project of this road had been planned by the Berisha government.

“The strategic project of the Arber Road started three years ago and it stopped with the arrival of this government, as many other important projects for the people and the country’s economy”, Basha writes.

According to Basha, the agreement with the Chinese investors for the Qafe-Murrizi tunnel was prepared in September 2013, but it was postponed by the government.

“Instead of apologizing for this delay, they try to lie to the people”, writes the DP leader on social networks, and Prime Minister Rama answered back: “Arber Road was ready? Same as every other pit of debts. One year of negotiations for not falling inside the pit. When you hear them repeating the fairy tales for which they lost in the elections, you understand from what our country saved itself on June 23rd”, Rama declared.
