Corruption in Albania remains still high. Experts at “Transparency
International” have used several indicators for measuring corruption,
such as bribes in the public sector, lack of impunity for corruption
cases and the answer public needs receive from government institutions.

Albania has received 33 points, and moved some spots up by being listed 110th in a list of 175 countries.

The global index shows Macedonia better than the rest of the region, moving it to the 64th position.

Then there is Montenegro, 76th, Serbia 78th and Bosnia 80th.

The report shows that corruption is a problem for all economies.

“The Corruption Perception indicator for 2014 shows that the economic growth is damaged and the efforts against corruption get weaker when high-rank officials abuse with their power for taking public funds”, is quoted the Head of this organization. Jose Ugaz.

No country has in fact reached 100 points. Denmark has 92 points, while Northern Korea and Somalia show to have more corruption.
