Anti-cannabis operation in Dukagjin

Through the operation code-named “Dukagjini”, the police have identified and destroyed 86.930 plants of cannabis sativa, 175 parcels in total, and seized 10.5 kg of hashish.

Police has taken 29 people for interrogation, and released an arrest order for ten people now on the run.

Police also searched 9 buildings for finding the fugitives or evidence linking them to the crime. 294 police officers from the Shkoder District joined the operation, together with the Quick Response, the RENEA, judiciary police and crime experts, who were coordinated by the General Police.

Police used 20 vehicles, two helicopters of the army and one of the RENEA, camping tents, etc.

The police operation was carried out in very difficult mountainous and rocky terrains, with high and dense vegetation, far from residential areas.

To adopt with the terrain, police has create mobile camping in the operation area.

The police are now moving to another area. Some bullets were fired against the police during the first three days. Police identified a group of 10 suspects.

Tepelenë, cannabis plantation destroyed in Tepelena

Police destroyed a cannabis plantation in Tepelena. More than 130 plants were destroyed and the cultivator was arrested. His name is Pajtim Kanani, from the Dame village, Tepelena.

The plantation was cultivated recently and the plants reached 60 to 120 centimeters of height.
