The tragic events at the Bulqize Chrome Mine don’t seem to end. This
Saturday, a 43 year old lost his life after the gallery walls crumbled
and killed him.

The tragic event happened at a company licensed to operate at the Area D, 3000 meters from the gallery.

The victim is Bajram Dalipi, father of four. The Mine Inspection and Salvation Department were able to get the body out of the gallery after several hours.

The body was sent to the morgue, while the Police have started to investigate. This is the third death in two months for the Bulqize miners.

The first, Naim Shyti, 38, died after a gas explosion at an ACR Company on the first day of the work, after several months of protests, while 8 others were wounded.

The second victim was Fetah Shehu, 56, who died at the Area D.

Dozens of miners have lost their lives in the recent years, only because the local and foreign concessionary companies have not taken the safety measures for protecting the miners’ life.
